With 4th of July right around the corner I thought I would post about my Americana Themed paper wreath I made and while I am at it why not try my first tutorial. Here it goes:
All you need is 4-6 pieces of 12x12 scrapbook paper
glue gun with plenty of sticks
a wreath (got mine at the Dollar Tree)
Some pretty ribbon (preferably thick)

Cut strips of paper measuring 1"x4"

not a good picture but glue the ends of the strips together. Just like the below picture too
After making tons of loopy strips you can start gluing them to your wreath

Just like below start going around the wreath

Then cut a strip and glue in a circle to put on the inside of the wreath to cover the color of the wreath just like the below picture
Tie the ribbon and hang on a door in your house!

Here are my yard sale finds from Saturday. Mom and I decided to hit up the Trinway Community Yard Sales up past Dresden.

I got a Coleman grill (not the one pictured, haven't taken a picture of it yet) for $8
Then on down the road I scored three awesome blue mason jars at this one lady's house. Then we headed down the road and I scored 4 more! These babies are going to serve as decorations in the house for now but the intentions are to use them as table decor for my wedding.

I also got an 1810 The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer for $8. I will post a picture of it as soon as I can.

On Friday night I took Maddy and Molly up to Dublin to babysit our other cousins Avery and Evan for the night. We had a lot of fun. After an eventful trip to the park, just a little word of advice: Do not take two 3 year old to the park 3 blocks or more away and allow the 3 year olds to drive battery operated jeep there. OMG I probably looked like a very irresponsible babysitter however was the coolest cousin around for the moment. When we got back to the house we just played outside on the patio with hula hoops and blowing bubbles. We ended with a little photoshoot of us girls

So yesterday I posted about accomplishing one of my goals on my list and then went back to my pinterest tab on my computer and kept about my daily routine of searching and repinning things to my boards (pinterest has officially consumed my life, pretty much has taken over facebook!) Anyways I came across some exercise inspiration and realized that I cannot loose this weight and tone up just by sitting around and looking up exercises, I need to actually do them. So I pinned a bunch of stuff to my board and I am going to devote myself to actually working out atleast 5 days a week.

here is the link to My Exercise Inspiration on Pinterest board. Check it out if you want to join me in this little challenge.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Favorite Things

Here are a few of my favorite things from this week:
1. FOLLY BEACH: I have been dreaming day and night about our upcoming vacation to the beach. We are leaving July 16th and staying til the 23rd. I am so excited to just get away and relax.
2. PURPLE SUNGLASSES: I snagged a cute pair of purple sunglasses at Gabes the other day for a whopping $2.99. I absolutely love them!!!! and who can't with that price?!
3. Currently Reading: Somebody Else's Daughter by Elizabeth Brundage and I am getting pretty consumed to it. For example the last two nights Anthony and I have gone fishing down at the pond and I have found myself laying out the indian blanket and laying on it in the grass just reading my book while Anthony fishes.
4. VERA BRADLEY BAG: I have been carrying this baby around as a purse for the last couple months. Its big enough to carry everything I have plus some and I am loving the pattern (Sittin' In A Tree)
5. RED NAIL POLISH: this color has been covering my toe nails for the last week. Picked up a bottle on clearance at Sally's for $3!!! I just love the boldness and freshness of this color.
6. FEATHER EXTENSIONS: I am really wanting to get a couple of these put in my hair. The only debate is if my hair is long enough right now.

obsession

Here lately I have been frequently finding myself sitting at the drive thru at Tim Horton's ordering a Strawberry Banana smoothie. This cannot be good for my diet and I know its not good for my bank account....but they taste so yummy! I am going to try to resist the urge but I don't know how well that is going to go.

Anyone else have any summer addictions that they just don't think they can cut?!

Saturday, June 11, 2011

I got some of my summer decorations made and put up! heres what I have gotten done, still need to make a couple wreaths to hang around the house and see what else I can come up with.

I think this garland needs a little something more...thinking about adding some stars and maybe some glitter to the whole thing and some ribbon. any suggestions?
I was inspired to do this from somewhere online can't remember what blog I found this on but when I figure it out I will give credit to it. Anyways my brother brought home a box of random pieces of wood from his high school wood shop. After digging through I found a bunch of random sized pieces just like these and had to take all of them. I am trying to think of some more things to do with them, maybe some blocks for each holiday. But here is our family last name and I had to use my little raccoon stamp too (: All I did was cut the letters out on my cricut then modpodged them to the pieces of wood and let them dry over night.

Hope you enjoy!

What I like about summer...

Reading poolside!
I just started this book last week and am really enjoying being able to read something other than a textbook! let alone being able to read it while laying out, getting a tan and just chillin' by the pool!

Here are some pictures I grabbed from Pinterest that remind me of the things I love about summer!
Flip Flops
Slip-N-Slides
Sunglasses
Swimming in the river or at the lake!

I am pretty sure this list could go on forever so I will just leave you with that (:

Embrace The Camera

I completely forgot that it was Thursday aka Embrace The Camera Day! So here it is:

Nobody else was home this morning and since here lately I am been snapping tons of pictures of Tank I decided to throw myself in there. I must say he takes pretty good snapshot pics (: I have had to train Anthony to take pictures like this for years and I am proud to say Tank has caught on very well (other than the above, he just loves me so much and wanted to show me with some puppy love)
