Weekending - Returning Home

Letting out a huge sigh as I sit here. It is not necessarily a sigh of relief but more of a sigh of where did the last week go to, how did time slip by so fast and how is it physically possible that we found ourselves setting our alarms for 6:00 a.m. last night before falling asleep. AHH Vacation is over and it is back to reality!

I will definitely be getting our vacation recap up this week but in the meantime I didn't want to leave you all hanging so I was just give you a little recap of our oh so fabulous weekend, just promise you won't be jealous. Are you ready for it? Just wait til you see all the excitement we had!

We literally just sat in the car all day Saturday!!!
Jealous much? I didn't think so!
Really though, Friday night we got news that there was going to be some delays in our travels home due to the East Mountain River Tunnel fire and that we might want to consider a detour.
We ended up packing up the car early Saturday morning and leaving my Aunt and Uncle's house in Mt. Pleasant by 8:00 a.m. We stopped for breakfast around 9:30, I took a nap from about 10 til 2:00 and woke up to traffic moving fairly stready but within an hour or so we were at a stand still. We consulted the trusty map and decided to get off the interstate and do some back roading through the mountains.

This option did give us plenty of gorgeous views along the way but we couldn't get past the fact that we were adding another two hours onto our trip. We put that aside though and soaking in God's beautiful creation and even stopped at the pretty little stretch of river in VA and put our toes in the water.

We also took some time to laugh at some of the funny things you do get to see when you are on the interstate. The things people do...

We ended up getting home around 10:00 p.m. and opted out of picking up Tyson and Diesel from my parent's house til Sunday morning and went straight to bed after submitting our MyPublisher book order from our trip (more on that another day!)

Sunday morning we woke up, unpacked the car, put some of it away and headed to Mom and Dad's to pick up the boys. We decided to stop at the local donut shop and pick up breakfast and give us a sweet little reminder that we are back in Zanesville. Tyson and Diesel were so excited to see and Tyson was even giving hugs!! He is such a sweet heart.
We ended up spending the rest of Sunday playing with the dogs, unpacking more, doing laundry and cleaning up outside. Coming back from vacation is never too enjoyable for us just because we love traveling so much and don't mind being away from the house. Aside from leaving the dogs we would consider traveling much more so until we figure out hotels that allow big dogs to stay we will be refraining from dogless travels until next summer that is.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and this week flies by for you.

I'm Still Alive...

Just enjoying the oh so lovely Charleston, South Carolina!
We leave Saturday morning and this vacation has gone by way too fast.
We just might have gotten a little too much sun this afternoon at the beach so we are enjoying the great indoors back at the house and cooking up some tacos for dinner.

Our mornings have consisted of views like this on Breach Inlet between Sullivan's & Isle of Palms

Lunches on Folly Beach looking like this!

with plenty of these consumed

and our afternoons spent here

Life is good!
Unfortunately I will be back to reality next week and I will show you more pictures for sure.
I hope you are all having a wonderful week and if not Friday is near.

Oh Hey Friday!

The Farmer's Wife
This is just going to be a little random but we are literally leaving in less than 6 hours for Charleston, South Carolina and I am so pumped/running around like crazy trying to get ready. I keep telling myself that we have the next 10 days off so we have plenty of time to get there and to relax for the rest of the week.
So here is I sit blogging while my hubby is trying to figure out what we are forgetting lol
I am once again linking up with The Farmer's Wife and September Farm for their Oh Hey Friday.

1. Last night we celebrated Miss Mariah's 20th Birthday.
We were all so happy to be able to celebrate her birthday with her and super thankful that God blessed her with another birthday!

2. We are packed and ready to hit the road tonight for Charleston, SC.
By tomorrow evening we will be sitting on the beach in Isle of Palms!

3. Tonight we are going out to eat with my parents and some friends for some early Birthday celebrating. My 24th is on Sunday but since we will be in Charleston we decided to go out tonight.

4. Speaking of birthdays, the wonderful ladies that I have the pleasure of working with surprised me today with an ice cream cake roll from the Dairy Queen and all of them along with the attorneys in the office sang Happy Birthday to me this afternoon at the office. I am so lucky to work with such amazing people!

5. Going to be missing my babies next week! Diesel and Tyson are going to stay at my Mom and Dad's for the week. I am sure they will be in great hands and well taken care of. They love playing with Mom and Dad's dogs and my Mom is actually watching my Aunt & Uncles dog Bailey and my Grandma's dog Sadie right now so it is probably going to be a full on party, doggy style!!!

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and next week. You might hear from me while we are gone but most likely I am going to have my toes in the water and ass in the sand!

Weekending: Hospital style

Friday evening was spent drinking away a ridiculously weird and not so great work week and going to bed early due to an increasing headache that was probably encouraged by the mentioned adult beverages.

Saturday was thrown off a little. Something came up in the morning and unfortunately I did not make it to my friend Courtney's baby shower. Luckily the afternoon turned around and I did find myself laying out at my Aunt and Uncle's pool with Maddy and my Mom.

The rest of my weekend was spent hanging out with Miss Mariah.  I seriously could not believe this girl's progress in the last two weeks. She is getting herself out of bed, dressing herself and so much more! Oh and her skin grafts are healing very nicely which is wonderful. I also got to be the third wheel on a little date she had with this really nice boy on Saturday night. We all three spent the evening outside talking about everything you could think of. I was so happy for Mariah because this is definitely something I have been praying for for her that she is able to find a man who can accept her for the pay she is and support her every day! Although this guy may not be the one God has planned for her to spend the rest of her life with he is very sweet and has good intentions of being by her side through all of this. We ended up calling it a night pretty early and then spent Sunday just having a bum day since it was rainy and crappy outside.

Thursday is Miss Mariah's 20th birthday and you can bet that we are going to be celebrating up at the hospital when everyone is off work with all of our closest family and friends. We are so thankful to be able to celebrate another birthday with this strong, beautiful, young lady who has so much coming for her!

The rest of my week is going to be spent getting ready to leave for our vacation to Charleston, SC Friday night and just getting through this work week. Ahh cannot wait to be on the beach again!!!

Oh Hey FRIDAY!

I am not gonna lie I was a little disappointed last week when I realized the Five on Friday girls were taking a little summer break because I always look so forward to reading everyone's fives and sharing my own. It is just such a fun and easy post to do up and everyone's is so different. So today when two of my favorite bloggers announced today that they are doing their own I was pretty excited.

Make sure you head over to The Farmer's Wife and September Farm to participate in this goodness!
So here is my five for Oh Hey Friday!

+ my bff Blaire made a pretty tough decision this week breaking up with her bf of 4 years and moving back into her parent's house. I know the decision that she made was for the best and Anthony and I were there to help her move out. I know she will find Mr. Right but for now she is going to get to enjoy being 23! We finished the night off with Red's Apple Ales sitting around the kitchen table.
+Anthony surprised me with a new drink surprise last night and oh my goodness these are so delicious. They come in cute little cans too (everything is cuter in the mini) Make sure you try these asap, you don't know what your missing.
+Last night I ended up going fishing with Anthony and for the first time ever I outfished him!
Mrs.-3 Mr.-0
+Saturday I am going to my friend Courtney's baby shower and am still trying to figure out what to make for her and the sweet babe. I am most likely going to end up with one of these cute conglomerations of baby stuff in a big basket.
+Saturday night I am staying at the hospital again with Miss Mariah. She has done so much this week from getting herself ready every day, walking and even lifting weights so a slumber party is definitely in order!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and here is hoping that the upcoming work week flies by because come Friday we will be Charleston, SC bound and I am so ready for a week of beaching it up with my Mr.

Weekending Fourth of July Style

We kicked off our extended holiday weekend Thursday by hitting the road for our little camping trip to John and Kelly's in Burton, Ohio. Isn't that view amazing?!

It was such a relaxing weekend spent waking up to views like the one above

 fishing with my hubby

Drinking wine

And more relaxing with these views

While we were gone Mr. Tyson was being spoiled all weekend by my Mom and his Uncle JK and Auntie Shalene. He spent his fourth on a boat ride to watch fireworks at Zane Landing on the pontoon.
Needless to say he is exhausted now and sleeping his Sunday away!

Saturday morning we packed up camp and headed home for some more Independence Day celebrating at Aunt Lori and Uncle Matt's.

My Uncle is constantly striving to make everything more fun for the kiddos

Tyson was not sure about the pool for his second time in.

And we finished Saturday night off with fireworks and drinks at our river lot.

Anthony had to return to work today but Sundays on the schedule equal time and a half for Mr. Fry so no complaints over here. It is a little overcast so my day is going to be spent unpacking all our camping gear, doing laundry and getting ready for the work week. Only two more weeks until I am Charleston, SC bound with my hubby!

Weekending

I promise I can never get a weekend recap post up on Monday, it just never happens.
Mondays around here are spent running around like crazy getting ready for work and starting off the new work week. I have never been a fan of Mondays so collaborating a post showcasing how amazing my weekends were is not usually what I am looking forward.
Now a big glass of wine, that is something I could handle come 6 p.m.

So I just save Tuesdays and most of the time Wednesdays for doing so.
We had a pretty eventful weekend.
Friday Night.
I had a slumber party at the hospital with Miss Mariah and ended up partying it
up the majority of Saturday with her too.
Since she has been transferred back to our hometown for the time being until she is cleared for full blown therapy I said I could spend the night with her in order for her Mom to get a break from sleeping in the hospital and go home to get stuff done around there.
I was a little apprehensive about staying all night in the hospital because I never had before but everything was just fine. We stayed up til 11:30 chit chatting which in turn
left Saturday for catching up on sleep and rest followed by more chit chatting and tv watching.
I ended up getting home a little before Anthony did from getting off of work for the day at 5:00 and we ended up renting movies, buying a bottle of wine and cuddling on the couch.
Sunday.
Anthony had to work and I had the benefit for Mariah for the whole day.
There were so many people that showed up for the benefit and we met our goal in order to help with some of Mariah's medical bills and some other stuff they are going to incur.
All of us volunteers!

Spending Sunday with all these amazing people helping one of the strongest women I know, wouldn't have had it any other way! Knowing that over half of these people are family and the other half friends that have become family warms my heart. I seriously cannot wait to see what God has in store for Miss Mariah and be a part of making it all come true. God has been so good to this family and seeing all these miracles happen has been amazing!! Please continue praying for Mariah that she powers through the next couple months as she begins some therapy and eventually a closer step towards coming home. We have seen many miracles in the last couple months and I am sure this is not the end of it all.

I hope all of you have a work week that flies by just like our weekends always do.
Anyone have big plans for the July 4th weekend?
