UPDATE::

Grandma got transferred to Ohio State University Medical Center where she is better hands to handle her stroke and the aftermath of it. I spent all day yesterday sitting at the hospital waiting for a Doctor to come in which didn't happen until evening. He ran some tests and they are running some more tests today. She is doing much better than she was on Tuesday night however her left leg and arm are not working, she can wiggle her toes and she is talking more. Her speech is normal but everything is very delayed and she is confused at times. Last night the resident mentioned that she is going to have to do therapy which will most likely be performed in a skilled facility and not at home. Please keep the prayers coming as the next days, weeks and possibly months are going to be very tough on her and she is going to need the strength to battle through therapy and get better. Along with therapy for the stroke she will also be having therapy for her other knee that she just had a knee replacement done on on Monday. Everyone keeps asking what they can do for us and honestly there is one thing, PRAY. We all know that God will get us through this and soon enough life will back to some normalcy. Thank-you everyone!

Prayers Please

Hello Ladies,
I cannot go into much detail as I am running out the door to get to the hospital but it appears my Grandma has had a stroke tonight. She just had knee surgery two days ago and has been on pain meds. Not real sure what is going on but what I do know is that God answers all of our prayers and tonight I am asking for your prayers to for my Grandma. Please pray that her test results come back positive and that she can pull through this and be strong. Thank you so much and I will keep you all updated!
God Bless.

Weekend recap

Wow what an eventful weekend we had mixed with a spur of the moment trip and spending lots of time with family made for a great weekend all together. Friday I got off work at 12 and decided to swing by Hobby Lobby to get a couple things and of course I ended up walking around for nearly an hour looking at all the pretty stuff they have in there. I cannot wait until we get our own house, it will be so much fun getting it all decorated and looking pretty. To no one's surprise I love all of the country decor along with all the gorgeous picture frames which are almost always on sale!

Check out these cute mirrors I found!

After HL I rushed home because one of Mom's friends from work was coming over with her daughter to pick out their new puppy from the litter of puppies we got 8 weeks ago. Miss Maggie picked out the little rottweiler looking puppy and she went to her new home on Friday. Her name is Georgia and it is pretty obvious that these two are going to be best friends.

After Georgia went to her new home Anthony, Mom, Dad and I were sitting around trying to decide what we were going to do for supper. We weren't real sure what we wanted and Anthony suggested getting sea food and Mom was like oh its seafood buffet over at Wheeling Island Casino in West Virginia. So we all jumped in the car and headed over there. Anthony and I were pretty excited because we had never been to a casino before. I wasn't too impressed with the buffet but I am not a huge fan of seafood but everyone else was so excited about the crab legs.

After we ate we went and watched the dog races and even bid on two. After a couple races we decided to hit up the slot machines. I only used a dollar and wanted to see how far that would get me. At one point in time I had made $6.30 off that one dollar but I was having so much fun I couldn't just stop there and had to play it and I ended up only walking out with .35 from that $1. But hey it was a lot of fun!

This was the only picture of all 4 of us that I got some lady to take and she wasn't real sure what she was doing so of course it is all blurry.

Saturday we went to Anthony's Grandma and Grandpa Fry's for his great Grandma Kaser's 90th birthday party. She is a collector of owls so when I was at HL I found her this really pretty ceramic owl that you can put a candle in and I had to get it for her. We had tons of delicious food and cake and play some hillbilly golf and pretty much just sat around and enjoyed the breeze and spending time with family.

Grandpa Fry recently tore down an old barn and built a new one and he gave me some of the old wood off the old barn! I was so excited. However I am still cowering Pinterest to figure out what I am going to do with it.
This is the card I made her with my Cricut
After we left there we decided to go fishing for the remainder of the evening and I got to use my new pole!

Sunday I spent most of the day trying to catch up on my laundry and cleaning my bedroom. When Anthony got off work we decided to take a ride on the bike. This was my first time riding with him and it was so much fun! We went over to Aunt Lori and Uncle Matt's property to see the progress there and then we went for a ride over around the lake and ended up taking a walk around the Marina. It was a very nice end to our busy weekend.

I hope you all had a great weekend and once again we are counting down the days til Friday.

OBX 2012 - part 2

On Wednesday I mentioned about being thankful we made it home safely. We woke up early on Monday morning, Anthony and I watched the sunrise together at the beach and returned to our campsite to wake everyone else up and finish packing up the campsite.

Everything was going extremely smoothly and we were on the road before 7:00 a.m. and had two stops to make; breakfast and a trip to Wings for some last minute souvenir shopping and we were officially on the road by 8:30. We made a little fun stop at the Grave Digger Garage on the way out of state.

After a couple quick pictures we were on the road again with an estimated time of being home at 6:52 p.m. give or take 15 minutes for potty breaks and lunch. We made it through the tunnel that goes under the Chesapeake in Virginia. Traffic was going at a steady 65-70 and I was sitting indian style in the passenger seat reading my book and the girls and Trevor were drifting off to sleep in the back seat. Next thing I know the jeep is slowing way down and I hear Anthony say "Hold on" and I look up to see brake lights of the truck in front of us only inches away and I am immediately throwing my legs down with fear of the air bags screwing my legs up forever and bracing myself for impact. I thought for sure we were going to hit the truck in front of us. Miraculously we got stopped only inches from the truck only to get rearended by the VW behind us which sends us into the truck in front of us. I figured this is it but within seconds we are getting hit again this time extremley harder and coming to a stop we realize this has turned into an 8 car pile up. After making sure everyone is okay and pulling off to the side of the road everyone is getting out of the car to inspect what has happened. We quickly realize the breaking was caused by a bicycle that fell off of someone's car, truck or RV and they continued on their way. I also came to the quick realization that behind the van that slammed into the VW is a semi truck only a foot behind them. If that semi had not stopped who knows what would have happened to us, I might not be sitting here typing this. Emergency personnel quickly arrived to the scene and the interstate was shut down and they began taking each driver's report of what happened. The van that caused the last collision we realized had not even attempted to stop and most likely hit us going at 65+ mph which caused 7 cars to go together. Not one person's airbags went off and no one had to be taken away in the ambulance. We were able to rearrange our belongings and cut off the hanging part of the Jeep's fender and were able to drive the rest of the way home along with the other vehicles that were in front of us. However the VW and the van had to be towed away. The accident was ruled out to be the van's fault until they can find out who the bike belonged to.

Two hours later we were on the road yet again, thanking GOD and our guardian angels for keeping us safe and unharmed minus some whiplash and extreme anxiety to be out on the road. After stopping to eat lunch the gps routed us through the rest of Virginia and West Virginia via a route through the mountains avoiding the interstate which was good for all of us and made the trip much more enjoyable.

We arrived in my driveway at 10:17 p.m. and after unpacking everyone went to their own beds and went to sleep. It took me a couple days this week to recover from the whiplash and for my headache to go away and I had to miss Wednesday of work for it to get some xrays done. I returned to work on Thursday with lots of paperwork to do and catch up on. After work I had to pick Anthony up from Brown's Auto Repair where he left the Jeep to get checked from the insurance adjuster and possibly get an estimate within 48 hours. We received a phone call last night that the Jeep is going to be totaled out due to the mass amount of damage. So now we are car shopping but cannot do so until Monday after we hear from the bank because Anthony is still paying on his loan.

I most importantly want to thank God for saving us along with our guardian angels that are with us every day and night (Grandpa Spiker, Shalene's Uncle Bubby and Aunt Mindy, and my Grandma Beulah). Without them who knows what shape we would be in. Please continue praying for us that we can get through the upcoming weeks of car shopping and getting everything cleared with the insurance company without having a nervous breakdown.

Today we are super busy with getting some laundry done this morning as soon as I hit the post button on here and drag myself out of bed. We are going to Columbus for a reptile show so Anthony can get some food for his critters then back home and up to Anthony's Grandma and Grandpa's for his Great Grandma's 90th birthday party and some family fun enjoying some amazing food and playing cornhole and hillbilly golf and hopefully some rides on the gator on the backroads. Hope you all have a great weekend and check back this week for some more exciting stories and lots of pictures from our trip and some updates on the wedding on Wednesday. See ya'all later!

Friday's Letters

Dear Friday, I am very glad that you are here. I have had one crazy week and its been a short one. Dear GOD, thank-you thank-you thank-you for keeping us safe during our travels. Our accident could have been much much worse and we walked away with no injuries and were still able to drive the Jeep home. Dear Vacation, you could have been a little longer and less windy at the beach but we were able to enjoy some sightseeing and relaxing by the pool. Now I just need this weekend to catch up with all my laundry and getting all the camping stuff put away. Dear Fifty Shades of Grey, I am only 20 or 30 pages into you and not real sure what all the hype is about. I am told I am not to let my Mother read this one but I haven't gotten that vibe yet...maybe it is soon to come so I will just take everyone's word for it. Dear Rodanthe, thank you for providing me with amazing scenes to take pictures of. I love all of them and honestly am considering getting all 439 developed but really need to refrain from getting so many done. Now to pick my favorite 200. Dear Monday, take your good ole time coming, I am not looking forward to you. Sorry.
