Miss Molly Turns Eight

We celebrated Molly turning eight years old by going back in time to the local skating rink, The Lindarena. Lots of family turned out and a handful of Molly's friends from school. Anthony and I laced up our skates and after one lap around my legs were already feeling the burn. Aunt Lori ended up getting the rink for two hours so it turned into quite the workout. My Dad showed us all up and was skating around backwards and in and out of all of us just trying to stay vertical! After cake, presents and some more skating it was time to turn in the skates and try to get used to walking again. We finished the night with pizza and salads at Adornetto's with the family. It is so hard to believe that 8 years ago Anthony and I babysat Maddy and Vincent while Molly Anne was born and we rushed them to the hospital as soon as we got the okay. We were there within enough time that they had not yet been taken out of the delivery room and we became the first people to meet this little angel. From the day this little girl has held a little space in my heart. She has definitely grown into a funny, adorable and sweet 8 year old and we cannot wait to watch her grow up more in the next year!

Anthony's Birthday

Last weekend we celebrated Anthony turning 27 by going out to eat in Columbus with my parents. We were originally going to go to Thurman's (famous restaurant because of Guy from the Travel Channel for visiting) but the wait was almost two hours so we decided to give Joe's Crab Shack a try and I cannot wait to go back again. We had to wait a little bit but nothing grabbing a couple spots at the bar and a couple drinks didn't take care of. The atmosphere and everything was awesome. I felt like we were on vacation at the beach and eating at a fresh seafood joint. We all left with full bellies, checked out the REI down the road and then headed home. But might have made a pit stop for ice cream cones.
It was a wonderful weekend and a fun way to ring in the 27th year. I cannot wait to see what comes in Anthony's next year. Hopefully a new job more in his career path, possibly our first home purchase and if God blesses us hopefully a baby (but hopefully closer to him being 28). Only time will tell and I am sure none of it will go quite as planned.

52 Weeks || 6 Weeks Late

Back during the first week of the year I told myself, and all of you, that I was going to pick up my camera more each week and choose pictures to post each week that really described the last week. Well here I am 7 weeks into the new year and I have only posted this one time. Can you say "slacker"? Well I going to play a little catch up and hopefully from here on out stay on track. Please hold me to it :)

Non-Blogmopolitan Quiz

I am linking up with Erin from two thirds hazel! This girl is the genius behind the ever fabulous Blogmopolitan Quizzes around here on Blogland and before her next one launches she is doing a non-blogmopolitan quiz for anyone who wants to join. Just a couple fun questions!! I couldn't really find an appropriate picture to put with this so I figured why not a picture of a cuddly Tyson! I just love this big guy!!!!

1. Something you will...

refuse to do for the rest of you life: bite my fingernails. I used to have this horrible habit and then Anthony finally convinced me of how truly disgusting and germy it was and I cut cold turkey.

always do forever: sleep with my baby blanket. I.just.can't.let.go!

2. Something you think is...

certifiably disgusting: other peoples feet.

absolutely amazing: orange sherbert. I have been eating it on a weekly basis for the last two months and I cannot get enough of it!

3. A compliment you've been given that's made you...

feel on top of the world: "Thanks for the wonderful dinner babe" -Hubby Fry. Whenever I cook dinner (rarely happens, I am not very confident in the kitchen) and Anthony really enjoys what I make I feel like no one can bring me back down from cloud 9.

pretty upset: I can't really think of any off the top of my head that would cause a family dispute if I shared it on here and they happened to wander over here to my little corner of blogland so I am just going to keep this one to myself.

4. A name you...

hate: Agnes thanks to my undying love for the movie Matilda! Aunt Agnes aka Mrs. Trunchbull, ugh she still makes me cringe to this day!

love: ELLIE. this is our #1 pick for our first daughter and has been since we started talking baby names years ago, pretty much before there was even a ring on my finger!

5. Something people say about you that you...

know is entirely false: That we (Anthony and I) have it all together. Which is a fairly far stretched white lie. We struggle on a monthly basis, financially. We may come across that we have it pretty well made but there are many days that we are just like omg this grown up thing kinda sucks, can we go back to high school! At least pre-college debt!
think is on point: "You are so creative!" people in my family and friends circle are always telling me that I am crafty and creative and I would have to say they are right (insert blushing emoji)

6. A taste you...

can't stand: broccoli and green beans. I have made myself grow accustomed to many green vegetables that I hated growing up but I still cannot shake the taste of broccoli or green beans.
can't get enough of: fruit smoothies. This is my downfall, anytime there is a fruit smoothie on the menu I cannot resist ordering it.

7. A song you always...

turn off immediately: "Online" by Brad Paisley. I cannot stand it! I think it is because it was on the radio and CMT way too much in 2007 right around the time I was 17 years old and had my license!
belt out the lyrics to: "No Doubt About It" by Neal McCoy, "Fishing in the Dark" by , and "Goodbye Earl" by the Dixie Chicks. Okay pretty much any country song circa 1980s and 90s!

8. Animal you...

fear: none really.
need in your life right this instant: I can't really think of adding another dog to our mix right now, I am enjoy our time with my two babies right now and if another stray cat ends up at our house it will be making a trip to the family farm. Adopting one and accepting another stray is enough. Last year we got stuck with a pregnant stray and finding the kittens homes and dealing with them running all over our porch was enough to drive me to drink!!!!

9. Something you...

will never ever eat: squid or sushi. I am a major texture type of person and just the thought of eating these two make me gag!
would eat for every meal if you were given the chance: Chipotle. No questions asked.

10. To enhance your looks you...

would love to, but would probably never resort to: training for a body builder competition. I have a couple friends that are currently doing this and I love following fitness bloggers and instagrammers because it is amazing to see what they can do with their bodies and the discipline they have is unbelievable but I don't think I could ever do it myself.
just stick to: eating whatever I want and working it off in the gym.

Currently || February

hearting |  I started following some new bloggers on Instagram and Bloglovin this week and I really need to put together a little post sharing some of them.

reading |  Fly A Little Higher by Laura Sobiech -- a bit of a tear jerker but so far a beautifully touching read. Keep the tissues handy.

pinning |  I haven't been on Pinterest too much lately. I have enough projects going on that I don't need to get on there just to add more to the Honey Do List.

eating |  HEALTHIER! I did my grocery shopping for the next weeks last weekend and stocked up on all the necessary items needed to eat my lunches at home or at the office and avoid grabbing fast food or splurging at a restaurant. I also made a pretty tasty (and dare I say my first!) cherry cheesecake on Saturday that we finished off this week.

anticipating |  Spring. In the last month or so we have had snow or ice storms on and off and I am ready for warmer temps and no more nasty snow piles all over the place. Mother Nature gave us a little tease on Wednesday with temps in the 40s but quickly ended it over night with almost 2 inches of snow.

Currently linking up with Jenna & Anne today!

February Goals

Hey Ladies! It has been a hefty couple of days since I last blogged. I guess I have just gotten a little busy here lately. But I am back for now and sharing some of my goals that I have for the month of February. Nothing too big from what I tried to focus on in January but also a couple that I am really having to remind myself to refrain from and stick to them.

+Read. More. Books.
really this is something that has become redundant in my head for the whole year. I have been horrible about reading in the last couple years and I seldom picked up any books. I am still finishing two books that I started in January and I am really liking them so I will definitely be doing my first ever book review on the blog because all of you should read them too!

+Drink more water.
once again another goal for the year, err should I say for life. But so far I have been doing really good about my water intake. The majority of the water that I drink in a days time is during my work day because it is so easy to keep a glass full of water on my desk and sip on it all day. It's when I get home that the wine and pop is calling my name.

+No eating out for lunch/dinner for the whole month
we have found ourselves spending way too much money by eating out for lunch and dinner way more than we should. For one it is not healthy at all and it is even more unhealthy when we are strapped for money at the end of the month and we realize it has all went to food. So I did some major grocery shopping on Saturday and we have meals planned for the next two weeks and I have successfully not grabbed fast food for my lunches this whole week!!!

+No morning shakes.
our office is right next to a Herbalife Health Center and they have some amazing shakes. I frequented there every single morning for the last 8 months or so in replace of eating breakfast. I have not seen any results in my weight because for one I was not paying attention to what else I was consuming throughout the day and I was only eating them for breakfast. And at $6 a piece I have decided to quit it cold turkey and so far I have saved myself $18. I pains me to even do the math and see how much I was spending monthly or yearly by getting those darn things.

+Take more pictures. Blog more.
this is just something that I need to do. I use this here blog for recording memories and when I slack off on blogging and taking pictures I feel like I am loosing out on being able to look back years from now and saying what we were doing at certain times in our lives.

Here is to a shortened month and some serious cutbacks. I hope I can stick to them and come out of this month with some more money in our pockets and less pounds on the scale :)
