President's Day Zoo Fail

Anthony and I made big plans to go spend the whole day together, just the two of us before Little Lady makes her debut, at the Columbus Zoo. The Zoo announced last week that they would be having a free day on President's Day. Not even thinking that since we had unseasonably warm temperatures for February that like 95% of Columbus would also be taking advantage of this free day. We ended up sitting in traffic for 2 hours and decided it really was not worth the visit. We probably should have decided this much sooner but we never would have thought that this many people were all going to the Zoo.

After rerouting, we decided to check out Outdoor Source for a kayak that Anthony has been wanting then we went to Pies and Pints for lunch. We ended up finishing up walking around Field and Stream. All the above is stuff that we thoroughly enjoy doing together and neither one of us complained that our plans went out the window for the whole day. We spent the day together, most of it in the car, talking about this new little adventure we are about to take on, the adventure of Parenthood.

This morning we also had to stop at the doctor's office to sign some papers before we have our induction. I had Anthony snap one last picture of me standing in front of the office to compare to the first one we took standing there.
8.31.2016 || 16 Weeks 6 Days

2.20.2017 || 40 Weeks 4 Days

Bump Day || 40 Weeks

40 Week Update || 2.16.2017

How far along: 40 weeks

Baby size: Size of a small pumpkin.

Baby's progress: She is still head down! Not much progress in the dilation dept.

Weight gain: 29 lbs, actually lost a couple lbs

Maternity clothes: I am still wearing all my maternity clothes.

Stretch marks: There have been quite a few for a while.

Belly Button in or out: Still an outty :)

Sleep: Sleeping has become almost non existent. Between going to the bathroom and then once I am awake I lay in bed thinking about everything possible.

Gender: GIRL!

Movement: She was kicking a bunch but not as much now.

Best moment this week: The weather surprised us again and we had a great weekend weather wise. We also got an induction date in case Little Lady doesn't come on her own.

Looking forward to: Finally getting to meet this little miracle and get all the unknown worries of labor out of the way.

Food cravings: Still milk but nothing else sounds really that appetizing.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing really

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Labor signs: On and off contractions but nothing worth anything

What I miss: Wine, Non-swollen feet. Sleep. Cuddles with Anthony.

Symptoms: Still have swelling but only in my ankles and hands. My BP has been perfect so we are not worried about the swelling. A little cramping, sporadic contractions.

Workouts: Lots and lots of walking

Things that suck: Still swollen ankles!

Nursery? Everything is pretty much done.

Nesting? Nesting kicked in a few weeks ago and left pretty quick.

Bump Day || 39 Weeks

39 Week Update || 2.9.2017

How far along: 39 weeks

Baby size: Size of a mini watermelon.

Baby's progress: She is still head down! Not much progress in the dilation dept.

Weight gain: 29 lbs

Maternity clothes: I am wearing all my maternity clothes and going crazy in the closet trying to find other shirts that will fit over this big belly.

Stretch marks: There have been quite a few for a while. Cannot wait to rock one pieces this summer!

Belly Button in or out: Definitely an outty :)

Sleep: Sleeping has become a struggle. I am not up to go to the bathroom more than twice a night but changing positions is a real struggle.

Gender: GIRL!

Movement: She has been kicking all over the place and she finally dropped so we are back to enjoying the movement because it has not been as tight as when she was in my ribs

Best moment this week: The weather surprised us with a few nice days so we took advantage and went on a few walks with Tyson.

Looking forward to: Going into labor and finally getting to see our little lady!

Food cravings: Still milk and fudge bars. Adding to the list is apple sauce.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing really

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing

Labor signs: On Saturday morning around 3AM I woke up to some contractions that I was actually able to time. The length of each contraction was not enough to do anything and they tapered off by mid morning.

What I miss: my ankles! Lol my feet and ankles are super swollen and I miss being able to feel them and cannot wait to feel like I am not walking on balloons!

Symptoms: Still have swelling but only in my ankles and hands. My BP has been perfect so we are not worried about the swelling. A little cramping, sporadic contractions.

Workouts: Just some walking outside and bouncing on my yoga ball.

Things that suck: Swollen ankles!

Nursery? Everything is pretty much done. I still haven't put her sheet on her crib and need to hang some more clothes up but everything is looking so cute and almost ready for Rowan

Nesting? Nesting kicked in a few weeks ago but has not returned. I guess sleep and relaxing have just seemed more enjoyable.

Bump Day || 38 Weeks

38 Week Update|| 2.2.2017

How far along: 38 weeks

Baby size: Dr. estimated her to be about 6 lbs at our appointment on Wednesday and is estimating her to be in the 7 lb. range when she is born.

Baby's progress: She is head down! Which I know can change but we are hopeful that she stays in this position. I was head down the week before I was born and when my Mom went into labor I was coming out butt first so they had to do an emergency c section. Fingers crossed little miss stays put!

Weight gain: 27 lbs so far

Maternity clothes: I am pretty much wearing all maternity clothes and when I am not in maternity clothes I have been wearing all of Anthony's clothes and mainly fleece pj pants

Stretch marks: There are more and more appearing as Baby Girl keeps growing. I keep moisturizing but I know that at this point there is not much that can be done. Plus I plan on sporting one piece swim suits from here on out anyways!

Belly Button in or out: finally an outty :)

Sleep: Sleeping is getting a little bit better. Other than I have this reoccurring tooth ache or my teeth are moving from where I had that tooth pulled out at the beginning of this pregnancy. The ache always hits in the middle of the night and wakes me up. Tylenol is helping for now.

Gender: GIRL!

Movement: Her complete movements have completely slowed down and instead we are getting more frequent and much stronger kicks and jabs. My rib pain came back this week which I blame to her much larger size and legs up in there being able to kick them.

Best moment this week: Sorting through all of her baby shower gifts and I finally got checked at our appointment on Wednesday and the Dr. confirmed she is head down.

Looking forward to: Getting the final details figured out at home and just waiting for some labor signs

Food cravings: Still milk but my appetite has really gone down in the last week or so. Oh and heartburn has returned.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Sloppy joes, I never really want them but this week I was craving them and had Anthony make them one night for dinner and I found myself eating them for leftovers for the next two nights.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully nothing just the heartburn that has returned

Labor signs: On Saturday after my shower I had one contraction that was not a BH but I blame it on the hooplah of the day and lack of water. When the Dr. checked me on Wednesday he said that my cervix is closed but is soft and that she is head down. All good signs since we were still a little early. I would really like to make it to 39, even 40 weeks, just so Rowan has plenty of time to do all the developing in there that she needs.

What I miss: Strawberry daqouris! I ended up ordering one on Monday night that was a virgin one. Not quite the same but hit the spot just a little bit. I am also missing sleeping on my belly, being able to roll over in bed easily, my ankles, and wearing normal shoes.

Symptoms: Still have swelling but only in my ankles and hands. My BP has been perfect so we are not worried about the swelling.

Workouts: Nade. I have been pretty tired and Ohio has been so cold that I haven't really ventured outside. This weekend is supposed to be in the 50's but rainy. Maybe if we get a break in the rain I will take Tyson for a walk.

Things that suck: Swollen ankles!

Nursery? We have pretty much everything done. I still need to hang a couple things above her dresser and make her bed and then I will be getting some pictures up on here of her little nook.

Nesting? Nesting had kicked in but it quickly disappeared. I find it comes and goes randomly. Like Thursday night I was on a mission to get as much laundry done as possible but it fizzled out by like 10:00. I only have like 2 more loads and then it just all needs put away and we will be good, well until next week! lol

Small Fry's Baby Shower

A few Saturdays ago all of my closest friends threw me an amazing baby shower and I am forever grateful for all the love we received. There were about 50-60 of our family and friends that came during what was expected to be the biggest ice storm of the winter (don't worry the ice routed itself elsewhere and everyone was safe!) Anyways, we got some amazing and thoughtful and very useful gifts.
Baby Rowan is already so loved!!! and maybe just a little bit spoiled ;)

I didn't get to take nearly as many pictures as I wanted to but I was so busy visiting with everyone and opening lots of gifts for Baby Girl! We cannot begin to thank everyone who has showered us with love during this very exciting time in our life. We are SO blessed and it is so overwhelming!
