Ball Mason Jar Pallet Art

Yesterday I posted a little sneak peek of my latest DIY Wall Art project.
Some friends of ours gave us a truck bed load of pallets and inside my heart was about to burst with the love I immediately had for these boards!
I know, I know that sounds ridiculous but if you only knew how many projects I had planned for these!
The awesome thing about these pallets was that they actually weren't your typical pallets that you have to tear apart with the help of your hubby and possibly the help of power tools they were originally lids on shipping boxes from the guys work and therefore all the boards were already together instead of gaped out. PERFECT for some wall art projects.

For about a month I pinned pictures on Pinterest, looked all over Etsy and hashtagged #palletart on IG and nothing was really catching my eye as something I wanted to. I have a love for blue ball mason jars and they are scattered all over our house so I was hoping for something like that to hang up. So last weekend when I was supposed to go to a concert but the ticket ended up being given away I took one of the pallets out on our front porch and got started...

Originally I was going to put a quote on it or the lyrics to the song we danced to at our wedding, Keeper of the Stars but I couldn't get my handwriting to look good so I decided to just freestyle a mason jar and figured if it didn't work I could just paint over it.
I didn't have any paint that was a good light blue but I had some turquoise from painting our hallway so I put some white paint in the can and started mixing it until I had a good color for the jar.

I didn't really like the size that it turned out to be on the pallet...too small!
One option was to cut the boards down in size...but that would have taken away the sole purpose of this project which is all part of Operation Cover Up The Outdated Wallpaper that we can't tear down because we are renting the house and trying to save money to buy our own house in a couple years.

For a couple days I let it just hang there while I was trying to come up with an idea to make it look better
then I decided to paint a floral pattern around it and ended up with this....
Just ignore the wallpaper! (ugh I hate it!!!! but things could be much worse so I am just going to be settled with it)

Now to build a little shelf to go under the pallet that I can sit some of my blue Mason jars!

Geez Louise...

....is being married time consuming!!!???!! or what?!!!
I never thought I was going to be this busy that my dear old blog would get neglected
Honestly I thought when I got married I was going to have all kinds of free time
but marriage is proving me wrong

I am hoping it is just the busyness of summer coming to an end and finally getting settled into our house
and that here soon I am going to finally have some free time to get some blogging done.

We haven't really gotten to do all the fun things I was hoping to do this summer but we still had a fun summer
I had big plans to go on a couple camping trips and we only made one trip and it was for one night
there is still time for some camping though especially with fall being here it will just mean we have to sit closer to the fire, pull out the flannel shirts, take pretty pictures of the leaves changing and share a sleeping bag. All of that sounds like fun to me!!!

I did make it to a concert this summer thanks to my favorite brother (only can say that because he is my only brother) Florida Georgia Line and Colt Ford played at our county fair and Jonathan is super duper awesome and helped the fair board set up chairs so we were right up front, like on the stage for the concert!!! so much fun (:

Told ya'll we were close!!!

Slowly but surely I have almost finished decorating our living room and this gallery wall has been my biggest and favorite project. Biggest causing me to cuss it more times than not and consider not doing it at all and favorite because looking at it almost done and imagining it with pictures in it I cannot wait to show it off to everyone who enters our home.

A couple weeks ago I participated in my new blogger and IG friend, Emmy's Hoop Exchange to help her with her adoption fundraiser! I was so pumped to get started on it and my partner I got assigned to loves her hoop I made her.
Since Anthony has a lot going on right now I have been spending lots of time with this big guy. He wasn't a big fan of our photoshoot but I still cannot resist that face!!! He is my buddy, I have been sick for the last 3 weeks and the majority of it was spent sleeping on our couch and this guy was always there by my side. Thankfully that bug is gone and now we are outside playing pass in the yard!

Did anyone hit up the Bath and Body Works candle sale?! This girl did and I even did it while I had the whole sinus and upper respiratory infection going on...needless to say I couldn't smell much of anything with the candles and just bought what I thought sounded good! Thankfully now that I am better they do smell amazing and the pumpkin pecan waffles I just want to eat it smells so tasty warm and fall like!
Last weekend I decided to get started on one of my wall art projects...if you don't follow me on IG here is a little sneak peek, I am going to post more about it tomorrow!
Along with my house smelling like a pumpkin fairy sprinkled dust throughout the whole thing thanks to B&BW I have also been making frequent trips to Tim Horton's for a pumpkin spice hot chocolate and yesterday I tried the pumpkin pie white hot chocolate and it was really good. I need to stop at Kroger's and get some pumpkin spice of my own so I can just make these myself and I am sure our budget with thank us!

Sorry this post was a little random but after not blogging forever I have to play a little catch up and I promise some better posts are in the near future including finishing off blogging our wedding and maybe even a little house tour.
