Weekending: Family Style

Our weekend wasn't too eventful. It was actually pretty laid back and carefree.
Friday night Anthony and I went out to eat at Tumbleweed with some friends and enjoyed some drinks and good company. We came home and pretty much crashed after a long first week back to work after our vacation. Speaking of the first week back make sure you check back tomorrow to hear all about what my stressful week back to work turned into. It is quite the story and extremely funny when it was all said and done but I am definitely saving it for a post of it's own.

Saturday morning Anthony had to open at work so I ended up sleeping in an extra hour.
I decided I was not going to spend my Saturday working around the house so Tyson and I took a surprise to Anthony at work. We stopped at Donald's Donuts (our local donut shop that is amazing!) They always open at 5:00 a.m. and stay open til they sell out. On weekends it is usually by 10 on Saturdays and even earlier on Sundays because everyone stops there after Church.

After we dropped some off with Anthony we went to visit my parents and Tyson got to play with Mom's dogs and run around on all their property unlike the smaller yard he has at our house to play in.
Mom and I ended up going to visit my Grandma and Dave for lunch and hung out on their new back deck they had put on the house.
Saturday ended up just being a relaxing day and we ended up spending the rest of the day going to my friend Julie's graduation party and then to a festival in town that my cousin's band Doublecut was playing at. It ended up being a late night and we didn't get home until after midnight.

Sunday I finally had a day with my hubby home! He woke up early and spent some time with the dogs outside and let me sleep in a little bit. Once I finally woke up we kind of had to rush around a little bit because we had to get ready to go to the Spiker Family Reunion (my Mom's side of the family)
We ran to the grocery store, got the ingredients to make mexican chip dip, ran back home, made the food and headed to the reunion.
We had a great turnout and it was such a nice day catching up with family members!

We also took advantage of the new feature we found out for the wifi function on my Canon DSLR. We have an app downloaded on my phone that allows it to function as a remote so you don't have to set a timer and run into the picture as fast as you can! It worked out flawlessly and we got some great pictures!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and here is to hoping that this work week is not nearly as eventful as last was and thankfully on Friday we are having a boat trip for work. I am really excited for it. The law firm sponsors the trip on a houseboat for the whole day. Food and drinks (not just water ladies! they were taking our adult beverage orders last week!) are supplied to everyone for the whole afternoon. It is one of the many nice things that is provided to all of us at the office. It really feels great to have a job where appreciation is shown in huge ways!!!
