The End of Our Breastfeeding Journey

3.14.17
And just like that we said good-bye to our breastfeeding journey.
It has been roughly two weeks since I last breastfed her and we started weaning. We discovered one last frozen milk bag in our freezer and tonight Rowan enjoyed some breastmilk one last time. I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a few tears tonight but it is also so amazing that I made it to that one year mark! It was so hard at so many different times. From the early days of trying to figure the whole thing out to cracks & bleeding, to teething & biting, to missing out at family functions while sneaking away so Rowan could have a little snack to all that time spent pumping. My husband was amazing and would wash my pump parts and bottles for me most nights of the week but I am so so so glad the pumping is over. This weekend I am going to sanitize everything and pack it away in a box with my trusty Medela pump because it is finally over. Even though I won't miss the pumping I am missing those sweet moments with my Row and I cannot wait to do the same with the Small Frys of the future.
