Rowan's First Camping Trip -- Ohio Pyle, Pennsylvania

A little over a month ago we took our first little vacation as a family of 3 and we went camping in Ohio Pyle, Pennsylvania. We joined up with Anthony's brother Trevor and his girlfriend Kendra. We had so much fun exploring this little white rafting town in the mountains of Pennsylvania. It was great to get off the grid and spend some quality time together for a few days. I personally was proud of successfully camping without electric with a five month old baby. Our trip included

Six Months of Rowan Christine

Half a year old already!?! Time to start planning the birthday party. These six months have been the best months of my life!!!! Even though there have been tears and lots of major changes in our lives the laughter, smiles and all the love have overruled everything else!!! Motherhood is amazing and I could not ask for a better baby to experience it with for the first time!

Here are Rowan's Month 6 Photos and Updates…

CHANGES + MILESTONES :

• She is still wagering in the 17 pounder weight range. I think since she has become so active she is burning quite a few calories.
• She is sleeping through the night in her crib, which is still in the same room as us.
• She has conquered the army crawl and is getting herself wherever she wants to go. TIme to start baby proofing everything.
• We are still breastfeeding even though those two chompers on the bottom are pretty dang sharp. 
• She says Mamamamama all the time and an occassional Dada but not very often.
• Grandma taught her paddy cake and how to clap her hands. I am working on If Your Happy and You Know It.

PEDIATRICIAN CHECK-UP & GROWTH:

We are a little late on her 6 month appointment. I had to reschedule so as soon as we get that done I will do an update.

EYE COLOR, HAIR & BABY GIGGLES:

Miss Rowan's hair is filling in blonde but the way it is mixing with the brown it catches a red glare every now and then but she is definitely a little blondie with the most beautiful blue eyes. She is also still the happiest baby that is full of smiles for everyone and the cutest little laugh.

SLEEP:

Sleeping perfectly through the night. Thankfully no sleep regressions yet!

SCHEDULE:

Little Lady does not have much of a sleep schedule other than sleeping through the night, waking up around 7:00 for a bottle and then back to sleep for a couple hours for a morning nap. She will take an afternoon nap and then is up for most of the evening.

FEEDINGS:

We started some purees and she is loving everything, especially bananas! I can't blame her though, they taste pretty good! We are still going strong in the Mama's Milk Dept. The milking parlor is still putting out!

One of my friends gifted Rowan this cute little tank top at my baby shower and I have been anxiously waiting for her to be able to wear it. I finally busted it out and we had to have a cute little photo shoot in our front yard with her in it. And a little bonus of having her big puppy in some with her.

Five Months of Rowan Christine

We are so close to being half way through Rowan's first year and it is flying by faster than I ever thought possible. As much as I want time to slow down her milestones are so much fun to watch and seeing her succeed just makes us so happy!
Here are Rowan's 5 Month Photos and Updates…

CHANGES + MILESTONES :

• She is weighing in at almost 18 lbs now.
• She is still sleeping all night long and has turned into a belly sleeper. Oh and she is sleeping through the night in her crib!
• She is so close to sitting up on her own and she has learned that to get wherever she wants she can roll there. She hasn't quite mastered the army crawl but every once in a while she gets it. 
• She still loves her mommas milk 
• She is quite the chatterbox and she recently started blowing raspberries (cutest thing ever)
• She has two teeth now!!!!

PEDIATRICIAN CHECK-UP & GROWTH:

No appointment until her 6 month checkup

EYE COLOR, HAIR & BABY GIGGLES:

Miss Rowan is still rocking her mohawk! Some little hairs are starting to fill in on the side. Like I said she is quite the chatterbox and she is always laughing and smiling. She almost always wakes up smiling and is slowly turning her Momma into a morning person.

SLEEP:

She has finally created a sleep pattern. She goes to sleep every night no earlier than 10:45 and no later than 11:00/11:15 and she wakes up around 5AM, dreamfeeds for a little while and goes back to sleep until 9:30/9:45.

SCHEDULE:

Little Miss still takes her naps pretty sporadically throughout the day but she has dropped her second three hour nap of the day and reduced it to 45 minutes. 

FEEDINGS:

Rowan has been a fantastic eater however since those two little teeth have come in she bit Momma a couple times so we switched her day time feedings to pumped bottles and through the night if she needs milk I will nurse her. The less distractions the better!
